Honda Strikes a High Note with One-of-a-Kind Musical Performance for International Jazz Day

SME News Europe.Celebrating innovation, harmony, and hybrid excellence through sound.

In celebration of International Jazz Day, Honda has unveiled a truly unique musical tribute that blends the worlds of automotive engineering and musical artistry. The brand collaborated with award-winning saxophonist Otis Lawrence to create a one-of-a-kind composition using sounds generated entirely by the Honda Jazz e:HEV.

This innovative performance reimagines the Jazz e:HEV not just as a hybrid vehicle, but as a musical instrument. From the rhythmic click of the remote key fob to the soft thud of the closing doors and the mechanical hum of the seat mechanism, each element of the car contributes to a custom backing track — forming the foundation for Otis Lawrence’s soulful saxophone performance.

Nik Pearson, General Manager of Corporate Communications at Honda Motor Europe, commented:

“With its style, sophistication and famed reliability, the Honda Jazz is the perfect bandmate for Otis and his saxophone. Since embarking on its European tour over 20 years ago, the Jazz has built up a dedicated fanbase and received a chorus of strong reviews. This is a fitting musical tribute to our very own chart-topper.”

The performance showcases more than just creativity — it’s a celebration of the Jazz e:HEV’s award-winning design and engineering. Now in its fourth generation, the Jazz combines hybrid efficiency, class-leading interior space, and cutting-edge technology, making it one of Honda’s most successful models globally, with over 8.9 million units sold and more than 50 international awards.

From its Magic Seat configuration to 986mm of rear legroom, the Jazz e:HEV is as versatile as it is efficient — and now, as musical as it is practical. This bold tribute underscores Honda’s commitment to innovation, emotion, and excellence — both on the road and in the world of creative expression.
